Meanwhile, thermal inkjet is grabbing market share from continuous inkjet and the need for new ink solutions will absolutely dictate the pace of change.  In response, the market is reacting with new inks that dry quickly on non-porous substrates including plastics, films, foils, metals, and even glass.
